Our Story

In the name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
All praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds.
May God’s blessings and peace be upon our Master Muhammad ﷺ and upon his family and companions.

The Prophetic Guidance and Outreach Institute was established in 2012 by Muslim students for fellow seekers of Sacred Knowledge with the goal of bringing about a correct understanding of the traditional teachings of the Islamic Faith based on strong authenticated chains of transmission from our scholars back to the Messenger of God, our Master Muhammad ﷺ.

After consulting our Grandshaykh (the Shaykh of our Shaykh), the illustrious scholar and descendant of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Habib Kazim al-Saqqaf of Tarim, Yemen (God prolong his lifespan and benefit the Nation of our Master Muhammad ﷺ through him) for some guidance on the matter of naming our institute, his response was that we should name it:

دَارُ الْإِرْشَادِ وَالْإِمْدَادِ
The Academy for Spiritual Guidance and Divine Support

To make it more palatable for the average Australian, we decided to translate it to what you see it as today:

Prophetic Guidance and Outreach Institute

This was a spectacular decision as it combined multiple meanings based on the Prophetic support that runs through the blood of their spiritual upbringing and connects us back to one of the Spiritual Poles and Giants of the religion, the polymath and Knower of Allah, the Saint, the Spiritual Pole of Guidance and Divine Support, Imam `Abd Allah ibn `Alawi al-Haddad (Allah sanctify his secret).

Our Logo

Thus, the reason for our choice of using a Yemeni dome that can be found scattered all over the mosques and prayer places in Tarim and Hadramawt, marking locations of men and women who serve God their whole lives in calling to Him and being sources of guidance for those who seek it.

With the guidance and services of our respected teachers and honourable scholars, we aim to facilitate and make the teaching of core Islamic knowledge accessible for anyone and everyone who has the desire to obtain it.
